About HROUG
The Hampton Roads Oracle User Group (HROUG) is a non-profit association of Oracle professionals and hopefuls in the Virginia Tidewater area. Hampton Roads consists of seven cities: Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, and Suffolk. Within these seven cities are a large Oracle user base. From our immense military presence to the many companies that call Hampton Roads home, our area is bursting with Oracle talent.
HROUG is committed to helping these users connect with the rest of the Oracle community as a whole by bringing top notch speakers to speak at our monthly events, and by holding larger conferences such as last year’s extremely successful Oracle Conference on the James (OCOJ06) which we teamed up with GROUG to hold.
We hope that this blog can be used to help bring the rest of the Oracle community to us. Whether we post notes and presentations from our meetings or articles from our members, we hope that you will find HROUG.org a valuable part of the Oracle community.
Thank you, and enjoy our site!
Sincerely,
Steve Karam
